‘Valuing the many possibilities of Cloth’

and much more…

International Cloth Day, 18th February, is about valuing and celebrating cloth in the world. Worldwide Cloth is mentioned as a basic need – among Food, Cloth and Shelter (roti, kapda aur makaan) Yet today, cloth is often seen only through the lens of fashion, trends, or waste. Cloth Day is about noticing cloth in our everyday lives— the people, effort, and resources behind it and the possibilities it offers.

A Day That Belongs to Everyone
Cloth Day is an open, decentralised, people-led celebration. Individuals, communities, institutions, schools, collectives, corporates, for-profits, non-profits across India and across the world are invited to be part of it. Because cloth shows up differently in different lives—and every story matters.
